We held the General Meeting of our Association in the beginning of April. We found the opportunity to evaluate our activities of the last two years thanks to our meeting where we came together with all our members. I was elected once again as the President following our General Meeting. I am extending my thanks to all our members for such kindness. Together with our new Board of Directors, we will continue to carry out good works for our Association and our sector and to represent our Association in the best possible way domestically and abroad.
We will continue our activities concerning sustainability in 2019 as well. As the Regional System Operator of the Concrete Sustainability Council, we are informing firms within the scope of the “Responsible Sourcing System” developed specifically for the sectors of ready mixed concrete, cement, and aggregate. Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association KGS Economic Enterprise (KGS) continues its certifications as the Certification Authority of the Concrete Sustainability Council. Our firms are greatly interested in this sustainability system custom-made for our sectors. Last year, ÇİMKO, one of the members of our Association, participated in the system right away and had two of its ready mixed concrete facilities certificated. ÇİMKO recently received the certification of its Narlı Cement Plant. I once again congratulate our Association’s member of ÇİMKO that is entitled to receive a “Responsible Sourcing Certificate.” With this opportunity, I am inviting our sectors of ready mixed concrete, cement, and aggregate to become a part of this system.
