We are proud of having successfully held another congress and exhibition on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, with the support of our members and all institutions and organizations related to the ready mixed concrete sector.
We held the BETON 2023 Ready Mixed Concrete Congress, which we organized in honor of our esteemed teacher Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Taşdemir, on 8-10 November 2023 in Istanbul. Approximately 1,000 delegates, consisting of academicians and researchers, as well as representatives of the ready mixed concrete sector and sub-industry companies, followed our Congress at the Istanbul Expo Center. A total of 95 papers, 21 of which were invited, and which will contribute to the development of academia and our sector were presented at our congress.
Our Association, which held the ERMCO European Ready Mixed Concrete Congresses in Istanbul in 1995 and 2015, has been organizing national ready mixed concrete congresses since 2004. BETON 2023 Congress was the sixth national congress organized by our Association. I am proud to say that the Ready Mixed Concrete Congress is one of the most prestigious congresses held in this field. On this occasion, I would like to thank once again the Scientific Committee of our Congress, the Organizing Committee, the esteemed researchers who presented papers, the participants of the Congress, and our sponsors
We successfully held the most important sectoral meeting of the year with BETON 2023 Ready Mixed Concrete, Cement, Aggregate, Construction Technologies, and Equipment Exhibition, which we organized simultaneously with the congress. We would like to extend our thanks to Davut Gül, our esteemed Istanbul Governor; to Mahmut Gürcan, our esteemed Deputy Minister of Commerce; and to Mr. Dr. Mehmet Varlık, Schwing Germany CEO; who honored the inauguration ceremony of our exhibition. BETON 2023 Exhibition brought together the construction, ready mixed concrete, cement and aggregate, construction technologies, and equipment sectors at IFM. Many products such as concrete pumps, concrete plants, construction equipment, loaders, concrete processing equipment, 3D concrete printing technologies, truck mixers, bulk trailers, construction chemicals, and trailers were showcased at our exhibition. BETON 2023, the trade platform of the sector, has had wide repercussions in the sector with its significant increase in the number of domestic and foreign exhibitors, the number of visitors, and the trade volume, with the participation of world-famous companies as well as Turkey's leading brands. Our exhibition was held with the intense interest of a total of 10,670 sector professionals, 1,652 of whom were foreigners. Visitors from 54 countries showed great interest in the fair. We were also pleased with the fact that the fair participants met with their target groups, introduced their new products, and established new business connections while meeting with their existing customers; that their expectations were met; and that they left the exhibition happy by making new sales agreements. I would like to thank once again the exhibitors, our members, and our supporting organizations, and I hope to see you again at the BETON 2025 Exhibition that we will organize in Istanbul.
