We organized Beton Istanbul 2017 Congress that we held for the fifth time on 13-14 April 2017 in honor of Prof. Dr. Saim Akyüz who has provided valuable contributions to our sector so far thanks to his academic studies, congress organizations, and books and articles he has published in the field of concrete. At the Congress;64 papers that will contribute to the development of the sector were presented in 13 sessions in two separate halls for two days. The Congress was followed by 440 delegates consisting of the representatives of the ready mixed concrete sector and sub-industry firms along with academicians and researchers. We are content that we have brought together our academicians who undersign innovations in the field of concrete and the representatives of the sector and the state once again with the Beton Istanbul 2017 Congress. Our Association that held the ERMCO European Ready Mixed Concrete Congresses in Istanbul in 1995 and 2015 has been organizing national ready mixed concrete congresses since 2004. Beton İstanbul 2017 Congress has been the fifth congress organized nationally by Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association. I am telling with pride that the Ready Mixed Concrete Congress is one of the most prestigious congresses held in this field.
We also conducted successfully the most important sector convention of the year with the “Beton Istanbul 2017 Ready Mixed Concrete, Cement, Aggregate, Construction Technologies and Equipment Exhibition” we organized concurrently with the Congress. 64 firms were represented with 150 brands at the Beton Istanbul 2017 Exhibition we held on April 13- 15, 2017. Our Exhibition we held for the ninth time this year was welcomed with intense attention as in the other years. Our Exhibition visited by people from 54 provinces other than Istanbul was also visited by people from Austria, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Palestine, Georgia, the UK, Iran, Cyprus, Libya, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Russia. We were happy with the meeting of the Exhibition participants with their target groups, their introduction of their new products, their establishment of new business connections by coming together with their current customers, and their departure from the Exhibition contentedly having entered into new sales agreements.
