The schedule of the ERMCO XVII Congress to be held in collaboration between the European Ready Mixed Concrete Organization (ERMCO) and the Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association (THBB) on 4-5 June 2015 at the Istanbul Military Museum has been announced. The Congress will be attended by more than 400 representatives of the ready mixed concrete sector from numerous countries especially from Europe.
Yavuz Işık, President of the Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, said the following regarding the Congress:”We first realized ERMCO’s 11th Congress in Istanbul in 1995 with substantial success. We are very content for brining the organization in Turkey once again because of the intense contacts and works we have carried out. At the ERMCO 2015 Congress, we will represent our country and our sector in the best possible way.”
In the Congress where 60 papers will be presented, four different sessions regarding the sustainability of the concrete solutions, contribution of concrete to the society, developments regarding concrete, and marketing and management of concrete will be organized. In addition, an exhibition displaying the materials, products, and equipments for the production and testing of concrete will take place concurrently in the Congress.
Most notable guest of the Congress will be Surendra P. Shah, an invaluable academician for the sector. Shah, a professor at Northwestern University, will give a speech entitled “Developments in the Science of Concrete for the Last 50 Years” in the Congress.
